Da die Figuren beweglich sind, können sie nach Belieben aufgebaut werden. Unsere eigene Krippe stellt meist eine Szene kurz nach der Geburt dar, Maria und Josef anbetend vor dem Kinde knieend kann ich mir nicht vorstellen. Being poseable the nativity figures allow building up different scenes. Here you see the parents short after the child's birth. I cannot imagine Mary and Josef on their knees praying to the child.

In fact the donkey does not belong to our own nativity. For this picture I took Grisella, my donkey mother, to carry Maria and her son.
